Going, Going, Going

“We're so busy watching out for what's just ahead of us that we don't take time to enjoy where we are.”
-Calvin & Hobbes quotes

Today started off with a Bang... Liem always plays with my cell phone and often calls people... Sorry to anyone... Today he magically dialed Military Emergency, I did not even know something existed. But I get a phone call from unknown that I missed. I thought "Dang it I missed J's call" but a few minutes later the phone rings again and it is Military Emergency asking if we needed assistance. The lady was REALLY nice and I apologized again and again... Needless to say I have been monitoring his cell phone activity today but I can almost guarantee I will hear from my friend at Military Emergency again on day.

We got our butts in gear early this morning because we had a ton to do today. The weather was looking up and luckily held up for us until this afternoon. First we had to drop in on some friends house that we are watching.

I did two house calls and I do not mind doing it, but I do want to kick myself in the butt for not braving the plane ride to visit home for the holidays. I know Christmas is going to be lonely, and not because I am alone, but because J will not be here to witness Luke and Liem on Christmas morning. Holidays are special and even more so when you have children. It just breaks my heart that J cannot be a part of some of these lifelong memories for them. I miss him like crazy, but I try very hard to remember that he is coming home to us, and that is all that really matters.

So after our house calls we headed to the eye Dr for the boys apt. Luke informs me on the drive that he does not like girls, only guys... I know we females are not nearly as cool as guys but it makes me giggle that he can comprehend the difference and show a preference already. I tried to explain to him that Mommy is a girl and he likes me, but needless to say he still does not like girls.

The eye Dr.'s was fun. Luke did really well and has finally overcome his fear of the medical profession. He was interested in all the tools and his eyes checked out perfect. (Dang me for forgetting the camera). Liem on the other hand has reached the age of protesting the medical profession and he did not like it at all. Mostly everything checked out except a scar on his right eye. She is referring Liem to a different Dr at Kapeolani but she said he could be partially blind in that eye. I am not sure what to think but do not want to get worked up until I know more. This specialist will run extensive tests to see how bad it is but I do not think much can be done if anything is wrong. So keep lil man in your thoughts.

After the eye Dr.'s we braved Wendy's where Liem finally ate a TON, he is also a dipper switching between ketchup and ranch. lol. Then we headed to the NEX. What was I thinking???? It was a train wreck. Luke and Liem both went in the cart so at least I was not stopping every five seconds to tell Luke to hurry up. I browsed and returned something but decided it was time to head home...

On our way home the Monsoon returned and I was a nervous wreck driving home. I swear every other mile I was hitting a small river on the Rd., but we made it home safe and sound. The boys are in bed now and it is only 7. I am going to finish some homework and give my sister a call. It is nice to finally relax.

I hope everyone had a good Saturday.
